The hands-on component of our curriculum is designed to give students the confidence and expertise to design and implement a wide variety of exercise programming for a diverse clientele.

The hands-on training takes place at Fitworks Fitness Center for student's enrolled at the Cleveland (Richmond Heights) campus or Urban Active for Columbus students and includes:

• Coaching on functional training methods
• Sports-specific and rehabilitative exercise techniques
• Experience leading boot camps and other group training scenarios
• Student designed exercise programming based on real-world case studies
• Daily structured workouts designed and overseen by National Personal Training Institute staff
• Instruction on designing exercise programs using a wide variety of equipment including the incorporation of body weight exercise and non-traditional equipment such as the stability ball, bands, tubing, medicine balls, the Bosu, dyna-discs and many other items
